Compare residencies side by side — dividends and a sale, separately

The Tax page now puts your current residency next to up to four others, one column each, computed on your own holdings. The comparison is split in two because the decisions are: while you hold shows what is withheld at source, the residence's own dividend tax after any treaty credit, and what you keep per year; if you sold today shows capital gains tax on your unrealised gain and the net proceeds. Rates are yours — type your effective rate, or supply an income where the country taxes at a marginal rate and we hold its bracket scale — and each figure says where it came from: your entry, derived from that income, or the country's statutory maximum. Credit for tax already withheld is capped at the treaty rate rather than applied in full, because the uncapped version overstates what you keep. Where no rate is on file, the column says so instead of showing a zero. It is a calculation on inputs you pick, not advice and not a suggestion to move.

Connect Freedom24 directly — no more monthly uploads

Freedom24 accounts can now be linked with your own read-only API key pair instead of uploading a statement every month. Positions and trades are pulled through the same pipeline a statement goes through — the same de-duplication, the same review — and the account re-syncs on its own each night. The keys are read-only by construction: the connection can see holdings and trade history and cannot place an order or move money, and the secret is sealed before it is stored. Disconnecting removes it. Every other broker still works the way it always has, by uploading a file.
